Here is a written scene of how people in everyday life can live out a Biblical worldview and share it with others:

Scene:

Two friends eating dinner at a restaurant. One is a believer in Christ, the other is not. While eating the nonbeliever suggests that they go to a theater to watch a film that contains evolutions, bad language and questionable scenes. This is what happens next.

Believer: “I do not watch those kinds of movies.”

Nonbeliever: “Why?”

Believer: “Those kinds of things are not pleasing to God. That does not mean I do not want to have fun, but how can I watch a movie about the evolutionary story when I know God made the universe?

Nonbeliever: “Oh, is this the kind of stuff you learn at church?”

Believer: “Yes, it is, but there is more. It does have a lot to do with how I live in this world. Like now, I do not want to watch a movie that teaches evolution or says bad words. The Bible says, “…Whatsoever ye do, do it all to the glory of God” (1 Cor. 10:31). Another example would be, that I should not have any part in taking drugs. The Bible says that we were made in God’s image. It also says that we are His holy temple, so we should honor Him with our bodies.

Yet some Christians like to shelter themselves and their faith from the outside world from science, facts, evil, math, rational public spheres but this is hard to do. The thing is that they have their own sinful flesh too. Some Christians go to church, yet they do not live to their full potential. This is not what God meant when He said to be in the world and not of it. God wants us to love, share the good news, and tell the truth. Yet many think that this is not the way to live, no matter if they say it aloud or act it. So, people might think that it is not the way or perhaps norm to act out our values and beliefs. Instead many people like to have values, belief, and private life stuffed in an attic.”

Nonbeliever: “I do not understand.”

Believer: “Sorry. Let me explain like this, there is your two-story house. On the first floor is your public life, science (for you that is evolution), rational stuff, and facts. On the second floor is your private life, nonrational stuff, religion, values, and morals. Oh, and in this house, there are no stairs. So, when you go to work, your boss asks you to see him in his office. It turns out that you will get a pay raise if you tell a lie. No matter if you said yes or no, no matter if you worked or not, you just did something or said something based on your values. Do not be surprised, people do it so often. You see, people like to say ‘religion’ and ‘science’ are separate (or to say, on different floors), but people like to smuggle their values, morals, or beliefs down a secret ladder to the first floor. Simply, no one can really live in a true two-story view! Therefore, how you are going to respond to my answer to your question will most likely be based on what you believe or your values. And my answer to your question will mostly be based on what I believe or my values (which would be God from Him is where I get my authority). Your values guide every decision you make and that goes for everyone. So, if you valued donuts, you would most likely eat donuts. Or here is another example, you value what evolutionists say and therefore you base your decisions on their words.”

Nonbeliever: “I know you are my friend, but you need to see the movie. It could explain a lot on stuff. And truthfully, I am not sure about the whole ‘value’ stuff (no offense). But come on instead of being pushy with your ‘values’, what about you, Christians, be tolerant for once!”

Believer: “I am sorry if I sound pushy. I am just trying to explain. But if you think about the government, do they make fact-basing, neutral, and valueless decisions about abortion? Just who said abortion is right? It is from someone’s belief, values, and morals that they secretly put into the public! That goes for other stuff too. No one can live without values! And they talk about tolerance, they want you to shove your beliefs, values, and morals up into the attic and ‘tolerate’ (or at least Christians). It is not that Christians know everything (God does), but Christians should be loving, forgiving, and forbearing. Yet, we should stand up for what is right!”

Nonbeliever: “Well, give me an example of such! Besides, this is the home of the free and the land of the brave!”

Believer: “When you lack morality, you lose freedom. Where does your morality come from?”

Nonbeliever: “Well, you did not answer my question—!”

Believer: “Demonstrate.”

                                 Silence came.

Nonbeliever: “I do not know!”

Believer: “Can I show you?”

                                  Conversation continues.
