Hey There

Hello! My name is Michala Woodruff. I live in Rochelle, Illinois (about 2 hours from Chicago) with my family.

A perfect relaxing day for me involves the beach, a blanket, and food. A few fun facts about me:

• I love hot chocolate

• I am writing a historical trilogy (you can check out my author's site here!) 

• Whale sounds creep me out

• Animal socks are adorable

• Ken's Country French dressing can go on almost anything

Why did I start this blog? Good question. I love acting and designing things digitally and have always been a movie lover—action and adventure, mystery and suspense, animation and the list goes on. However, I did not always think acting and making such productions would be fun.

 

When I was twelve, I had a favorite book series. Sometimes I wanted to escape to be certain characters or play the part of a princess. I tried to be satisfied where God placed me, but . . . then I watched a behind-the-scenes to a movie. Amazing! They had more cameras than Hollywood, built half of a Philadelphia set, used many green screens, had perfect outfits, and was God-centered. I was inspired. The way the character in the movie encouraged me to live was how I wanted to encourage others. So, I began writing a movie script.

The more interested I got, the more opportunities God opened for me. I have been able to write and act in multiple skits, act in two movies, create book trailers, and act in two bigger plays. 

 

My goal throughout this blog is to provide you with professional information, fun facts, and tips/hacks to acting, cameras, funding, and more! Stories—whether on the stage or on a screen—impact us. When we see something and chew on that, it goes to our hearts and whatever is in our hearts will shine out in actions and words. Making productions is a powerful thing, that comes with many responsibilities.

 

Not only is my aim to provide you with reliable insight on productions, but to shine the spotlight on how productions impact us. Because if we lose sight of why we are creating different worlds and stories, we lose the heart of productions.

This Bible verse refers to Spiritual sight or a Biblical worldview—seeing the world through God's eyes. We cannot do this if we are looking through self-centered tainted glasses. To see the way God sees, we must focus on one audience. God.
